Foster child adoptions up in Louisiana

This is what recent numbers point to. According statistics from the state’s Department of Children and Families, 912 foster children were adopted in the state between October 2017 and September 2018. This is 141 more foster child adoptions than the previous one-year period saw.

This total also breaks the state’s record for foster child adoptions. This makes 2018 the state’s third consecutive record-setting year when it comes to such adoptions.

The number of families adopting foster kids in state is also up this year. Over the October 2017 to September 2018 period, 631 families adopted such children. The previous one-year period’s total was 548 families.
